Job Title: Area General Manager
Person Specification

Education

Essential: A good general education is essential.

Desirable: MBA/Degree level qualification is desirable.

Training

Incumbents must be able to demonstrate a career showing continuous personal development.

Up to date technical knowledge of ACOPs, fire and environmental control measures, building control requirements, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Experience

Essential: Generalist managerial experience at Senior Contract Manager/Area Manager level within technical and or hard services environment.

Practical experience must include staff recruitment, the development and review of teams and the application of effective people management practices.

Desirable: Experience of delivery of wider facilities management services.

Aptitudes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Numerate and computer literate.

Character

Excellent motivational and influencing skills, with high levels of personal integrity.

Has vision and able to communicate this effectively.  A role model for customer service excellence.

Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self-starters, confident and stable in manner.

They must be organised, able to prioritise and deliver within high pressure, business critical environments.

Circumstances

Incumbents will be required to travel widely on occasions to support operational delivery, and participate in training and business review. Some overnight stays will be needed.
