Person Specification
Education
Essential: A good general education, including a relevant qualification at HNC level or equivalent.
Desirable: Educated to degree level in engineering/construction or a related discipline. MBA also desirable.
Experience
Essential: Generalist and strategic managerial experience at Operations Manager/Director level.
Experience of formally presenting and negotiating with customers and internal teams.
Confident with financial data and the ability to present and interpret full accounts.
Track record of growing and developing new business.
Previous experience of managing diverse teams across.
Desirable: Knowledge of working within varying business sectors.
Managerial experience within other functional disciplines.
Aptitudes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Numerate and computer literate.
Character
Excellent motivational and influencing skills.
Able to inspire confidence through personal credibility and appearance.
Politically astute.
Incumbents must have a high level of energy, be self-starters, confident and stable in manner and be able to prioritise and work on a range of activities within a high pressure environment.
Circumstances
Incumbents will be required to travel widely on occasions to support new business development, and participate in training and strategic reviews. Occasional overnight stays will be required.
