Job Title: Shift Engineer
Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building plant, equipment and systems in accordance with agreed service levels, respond to site engineering emergencies and undertake small installation works, repairs to building fabric, and handyman duties.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, as well as service level agreements.
  2. Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.
  3. Issue and ensure appropriate controls within Permit to Work systems.
  4. Ensure evaporative cooling and domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
  5. Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  6. Ensure comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of ‘Frontline’ task sheets.
  7. Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
  8. Ensure engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised and comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
  9. Develop good working relationships with all members of staff, both Norland Managed Services and client staff.
  10. Ensure the provision of a safe and healthy working environment, compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements.
  11. Ensure the presentation of a professional Norland Managed Services image to clients and visitors, ensuring the delivery and promotion of excellence in customer service at all times.
  12. Ensure professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

Accountabilities

  1. Accountable to Contract Supervisor and Area Manager.
  2. No directly reporting staff.
  3. No direct budgetary responsibility.
  4. Accountable for maintaining appropriate stocks of spares and consumables, ensuring their secure storage and controlled issue.

Remuneration

Competitive salaries: £35,000 - £50,000 pa
depending on level of appointment.
